GREEN VALfiEY - The major item of business when the members of the Green Valley grade school board of education met Monday night was the review and adoption of a tentative budget for the 1970-71 fiscal year as presented by Supt. James Oltraan.The tentative budget is as follows: Total receipts and revenues - educational fund, $137,232.27: building fund, $20,048.74; transportation fund, $27,071.69; bond and interest, $17,222. ; estimated expenditures, educational fund, $138,650.; building fund, $25,975.; transportation fund, $229.949.51; bond and interest, $17,222.The budget will be on file in the grade school office until a hearing Aug, 31 at the regular scheduled board meeting.Miss Sharon Summar was hired as a fourth grade teacher. Miss Summar is from Decatur and completed her degree in June of this year at Illinois State University.In other business, action was taken to participate in Title I project for re-medial reading federal support of $4,650. Action was also taken to accept re—embursement of $145.75 for Title II for library books.The board moved to increase the book rental fees to $3. for Kindergarten and $9. grades 1 thru 8. Insurance may be purchased for each student, K-8, at a cost of $2.90 per pupil.School registration will be held Aug. 24, 25, and 26 in the grade school office.
