Services For Doctor Harrison HeldinBatesvilleFuneral services were held at tile Methodist Church at Batesville Monday afternoon at | 5:00 o'clock for Dr. D. A. Harrison who was killed in an automobile accident Friday night. Services were under the leader-• ship of Rev. W. B. Sherman, | j pastor of the Batesville and Laj Pryor churches, assisted by i Rev. Dick Scott, pastor of the ] Batesville Baptist Church, Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Batesville where deceased father, Dr. D. A. Harrison, Sr. was buried in 1938.The 52-year-old physician ; practiced at Batesville and La Pryor and was on the staff of ; Uvalde Memmorial Hospital. It ; is understood he had gone to ] Eagle Pass on Friday evening . for medical supplies. Driving , his 1955 Oldsmobiie, Dr. Harri- ( son was alone at the time of the accident which occurred at , 11:35 p.m . July 29, two and , a half miles east of Eagle Pass I on Highway 76 The car report-i edly turned over several times. No other car was involved.f Early reports of the accident* said that Dr. Harrison carried with him a quantity of SalkI polio vaccine for use in La Pryor and Batesville. Salk polio , shots were completed in those it two commun.ties before the end ; of school, and although Dr. j Harrison helped in the giving 9! j the shots, he did not have any , vaccine with him at the time of | the accident.Daniel Alien Harrison, Jr. was born January 28. 1903, at Dallas. Texas. A few years tnereafter the family moved to Batesville, where his father was a well known practicing physician for many years D A. Jr. attended public schools at Batesville and San-deson, the Univers.ty of Texas, U.T. Medical School at Galveston and had numerous postgraduate courses. He was the recipient of many honor accom-1 piishments in the field of medi- j cine Hv interned at Cleveland! City Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio. \ After tms he practiced medicine continuously, part of the time in the Rio Grande Valley.
