Returning Vacationists Battle Busy Highway, Hot Radiators P. J. Gilders Honored On Silver Anniversary Highways were decked three- deep over the ‘week-end with re turning’ vacationists who escaped to less torrid regions for the month of July. Slow-moving traffic -re sulted in more than a headache for the driver and impatience for the passengers. Many cars were de layed when overworked radiators began to steam, forcing motorists to stop at service stations and have the radiators flushed. But memories of cool ocean breezes and, clear mountain air kept vacation- spent residents in undaunted high spirits. Assistant Postmaster and Mrs. Alfred Lang of 39 South avenue,, west, are vacationing for a month at Monomonock Int. Mountain Home, Pa. , The Misses Norma, Phyllis and Barbera Gilcher held open house at their home, , 128 Besler avenue, Sunday, in honor of their parents’ summer home. They also spent a silver anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. three days: in Rochester, N. Y.,P. J. Gilcher were presented with where they visited Mrs. Nielsen's many gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Gilcher were married in the Westfield Methodist Church in 1924. Mrs. Gilcher is the former Matilda Frank of West field. The couple has resided 18: Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Both Mr. and a family of 17 Dunham avenue left Mrs. Gilcher have been active in Sunday to spend three weeks at church and civic groups, their summer camp in Stokes State.
