Joseph Mikulec. who was in Linton several weeks ago. has reached Chicago. He is the Austrian who is making a 25,000-mile walk around the world, and who left his native land on his long journey in February. 1906. He is to receive $10,000 if successful in finishing the trip within five years, the money to he paid by the publishers of an Austrian magazine. He left Chicago for Springfield to secure the signature of Gov. Dineen, as his contract requires that he obtain the signatures of the governors of the various states through which he travels.
