A terrible aceidygit occurred Tues day night in a stope on the 7@Q- foot level in the Le Roi, im which Frank Anderson and Daniel Col ville met their death, and August Bross was severely injured. “The three men were working in that part of te stope where it had not been timbered closely to the fire, under a bad roof. The work loos ened a large mass of rock in the roof above them and without a moments warning it came crashing down, doing to death the two un fortunate men. It was only after much hard work that the bodies were removed from beneath the rock, and were taken at once to the undertaking rooms, and Bross was removed to the hospital, where he is suffering from a bad scalp wound and several bruises and abrasions. He is expected to recover quickly. Wednesday Dr. Bowes inpanded a jury and visited the scene of the accident. The inquest was then adjourned ti to Thursday when several witnesses were examined and the remains viewed. After some deliberation the jury decided that the men came to their death by an unavoidable accident. The evidence of Mr. Bross was the only matter tending to the contrary, had no weight with the jury, which decided that every precaution had even taken to protect life and time. The remains of Daniel Caldwell were sent to West Virginia on Thurday night's train. Yesterday the Le Roi shut down for one shift, and a large concourse of fellow-workers followed the re mains of Nils Anderson to their last resting place. The funeral writieg was conducted by Rev. Morden in Miners’ Union hall, at 1:30 yesterday.
