Mr. A. R. Peoples, of Valdosta, attended the ball game here yes terday. Mr. H. M. Cave and wife left last night for Fort White, Fla., where they will spend a few weeks with relatives, Mrs. W.8. Keefer and Mr. Robt. Keefer left last night for New York, from which place they will go to Massachusetts for the re mainder of the summer. Dr. R. H. Harris, Mr. J. 8. Montgomery, Mr. J. D. Stringer and probably others went down to Metcalfe yesterday afternoon to attend the funeral of Mr. Lilly. Mr. J. N. Stephens and Mr. G. A. Thompson, two of Thomas county's school teachers, left yes terday for Jasper, Flo, to attend the Normal School at that place. We are glad to see Mr. 8S. W. Mays in Thomasville again. He came in last night and will remain here during the coming cotton season. Ilo is looking well after his trip through Europe. Mr. Charley Barnes and Misses Mary and Laura Barnes left last night for Savannah, from which place they will sail today for New York. They will spend the next month at their old home in the Adirondacks. Mr. Jack Tomlinson, who has been in the Western Union office here for some months, left yester day for New York, to be absent some weeks. During this absence his place will be filled by Mr. Charles Stone, a brother of Mrs. M. 8. Jones, who has recently moved here from Americus. At the Brighton yesterday: J. C.
