Boxer HadBroken RibSYDNEY, Mon. — North Queensland boxer Harry Grogan (16.13), knocked ont Jack Evans (11.6), In the second round of a scheduled 16-round bout, at Sydney Stadium to-night.A doctor examined Evans after the fight and found that he had a broken rib.Evans was in pain when he was assisted to his corner, and ambulance men strapped his ribs tightly with a towel.Grogan and Evans threw punches non-stop in the first round and Evans was hurt several times with crashing rights.But he stood up to Grogan and also landed good punches.Evans was never in danger of being knocked out in that round, but 30 seconds into the second he went | down from a right to the head that did not appear to be as heavy as those he took in the first.TORRID DRAWIn the final 10-rounder on the bill, Grogan’s brother, Clarrie (11.01), fought a torrid draw with Pedro Ac-quisia (11.51).| Both boxers were groggy several times during the I fight.The fight was marred by excessive holding and claiming.In the fourth round referee Ronnie James warned Acquista against holding Grogan while he punchedhim.In the third 10-rounder, Rudy Vobo (11-8) stopped Paul Smith (11.12), in the second round.Referee James stopped the fight after he had inspected Smith’s cut left eye.
