Drawings match the winner of the Redwood county league playoff with the Southwest ern league winner. There are five teams in the running in that soop, with Balaton con sidered a likely champ. The Big Eight champ will play the State Line league winner in the other regional first round game. A consolation game and the finals are booked for the second Sunday. Selection of the Redwood county entry will begin Sun day when Wabassa and Delhi meet at Delhi and Seaforth goes to Wanda. The winners will play a three game series starting August 13, the place of the first game dependent on Sunday’s results. In the only league game Sunday, Delhi justified its premature appointment to second place by defeating oe in a postponed game to 3. Lamberton and Fairfax, the teams selected to play for a $150 ret as the baseball classic Of dwood Falls’ Diamond Jubilee, are champions in their respective leagues, representing five coin s, Redwood, Renville, Brown, Ironwood and Sibley. The Lambs rule the B-W-R league, which includes Sanborn, Springfield, Comfrey, Storden d Windom, all “baseball towns.” Kerton completed the league ason with eight wins and two feats for an .800 rating. San in finished second with a .700 standing and Springfield third th, .667. In the playoff last Sunday, the Lambs blanked the Fielders 6 to 0, as Pipgras, former big time pitcher, dealt out but four hits while his teammates collected ten. Fairfax has won ten league encounters and lost but two while New Ulm has nine vic tories and three spills. Fairfax trounced Hector 11 to 1 Sunday as its heavy hitters as sembled 18 hits, five of them for extra bases while Elston gave it to only two batters. In other Western Minny games Anthrop defeated Bird Island 17 – 11 and Gibbon downed anklin 9 to 2 while New Ulm as a forfeit winner over Olivia. Ibbon holds third place and in throp fourth in loop stand ings. The jubilee game is called for 3 p. m. Monday, August 21, the teams to divide the purse 60-40. The game will follow the finals of the county kittenball tourna ment, another jubilee feature, and is the only sports event of the affair for which there will be a charge. Admission for the two games will be 25 cents.
