Home Made Booze Again Whiskered ‘Gent’ to eat His Mate; to ‘FarmGoshen, Ind., Aug. 1.—Jacob C. Troyer, 51, a farmer residing east of Goshen, has been taken to the state penal farm to serve a 90 day sentence suspended last winter when Troyer pleaded guilty to violation of the liquor law. He manufactured a concoction from wheat and rye and after drinking it kicked his wife down stairs and inflicted other brutal treatment. With the understanding that he would refrain from such conduct, he was permitted to retain his liberty, but a few days ago neighbors reported he had again become drunk on his home-made booze and was beating his wife. He was ordered into court and the suspension revoked. While a prisoner in jail, Troyer met a youthful barber, who told him if he went to Putnam-ville with his long black beard and hi? heavy head of hair, it would be removed without special care. The barber offered his services, Troyer accepted and his chin, face and head were shaved.
