BIG TIME FOR NEGROESON EMANCIPATION DAYFreedom Anniversary Will Be Celebrated With Parade, Picnic and Speeches.isA parade of negro lodges, clulw. and picnickers will *tan tomorrow's Emancipation Day celebration and fair in Columbia. The parade, which i* scheduled to start at 10:30 o’clock in the morning at the Fairgrounds, will travel south on Eighih street to Broadway; then to Third street and north hack to the Fairgrounds. Shelton White of Moberly wilf l»e marshal, and the various negro organizations of Columbia, will march in a body. McKinney Hall will be i^rd as a rest room during the parade and all day.C II. Brown of St. Louis will be the principal speaker of the clay. Friday evening hr will set up the uniform rank of the Knights of Pythias oldge here. Forty-six negroes arc expected to be initiatedThe Fair ground* will be the scene of a | all activities. There will be seven j booth*. each with a different attraction.I j Barbecued mutton, beef and pork will be n on sale, and the usual fair attractions will be oprratcd.A baseball game between the Knights of Pythias nnd the colored Masons is scheduled for 2:30 o’clock. Following this, an automobile race will be held, three small cars being entered.
