BROTHERS MEEBT AFTER SEPAR ATION OF FORTY-TWO YEARS. Michael Roche of Dubuque Visits His Brother, William, at Home of Lat ier’s Son in Billines, Montana. Michael Roche, of 69 Grant avenue, recently went to Billings, Mont., to visit relatives and the Gazette of that city tells of the penvis of him and his brother, William, whom he has not seen for forty-four years. The Gazette says? For the first time in forty-four years William and Michael Roche, brothers, met and shook hands at the home of the latter i s son, J. F. Roche, in this city yesterday morning. The brothers met here by appointment, and the meeting was a memorable one to those who witnessed it. Michael Roche has long lived in the city of Dubuque, Town, where his ex istence has been in accord with the old settled country in which he has re sided. William Roche has lived a far different sort of life and is a striking type of the pioneer westerner. For thirty-one years he has lived en tirely alone in a cabin on the Froze to-Death bottoms in the Yellowstone valley. ‘The tract of land, well known to all old settlers, is located opposite the town of Sanders, a station on the Northern Pacific railroad. For twelve years after he had settled in this lone ly cabin he was the only white man within a radius of twenty miles, and that during times in Montana when it required nerve to venture anywhere alone. Mr. Roche is well known to many of the old times of the Yellow stone valley and eastern Montana, and is greatly admired by his circle of friends. He is now going to take a period of recreation, the first in many years. He will remain here with his nephews for about a week, and willl then go to Hunter's Hot Springs for a short stay. He will then take a trip through the park, and from there will go to San Francisco and other points on the coast. He will then journey back to Dubuque and continue his visit with his brother Michael, and after that is concluded he will probably come to Billings to make this city his perma nent home. He is the uncle of John and Joe Roche, this city, well known young business men.
