Jt will be remembered that action was taken for the opening of this ditch or canal, which it is claimed will redeem thousands of acres of wet and useless land, Use tci-lal cost of the work being estimated at $20,000. Commissioners were named and assessed the benefits and damages. Many farmers objected to the report and several days were spent in hearing evidence of those for and against.
