Asan was born to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Green, on Packer street, last Thursday. Pat Quirk had his hand badly burned by the bursting of a lubricator, throw ing hot oil on his hand. Rev. Weir, president of Scio college, preached an eloquent sermon at the M. E. church Sunday morning. A number of people from the twin cities attended Buffalo Bill’s Wild west show at Steubenville, Monday. Port Washington has started their fourth well. It is located on the farm of A. C. Stocker, 2 miles north-west of Port. A. H. Brown has taken the agency for the Singer Sewing machine, with his office in the Dunning building on Third streets. The wreck train was called to New comerstown Friday night where two engines had come together on a Y switch and done considerable damage. Mary E., daughter of Edward White, of Midvale, died Monday morning of cholera infantum at the age of 1 year and 8 months. Miss Anna McManus, of Dennison, and George Woodruff, of Revenna, were married last Thursday evening at the residence of Father Heery, in Dennison. There was a small wreck in the Den nison yards Sunday night caused by a cut of cars running against a moving train, knocking a couple cars off the track. Marion Heidy, of Dennison, received a terrible fall from his wheel while rid ing in Island Park Friday evening, by running over a small dog while he was riding rapidly. Sunday morning at Gnadenhutten oc cured the marriage of Miss Lula Delong, daughter of Mrs. Lida Delong, of Thorn wood Park, and Wm. Lavender, of Scio. After the ceremony they left for their future home in Scio. The funeral services of Robert Miller, who was killed on the C. L. W. Ry., at Pauls, were held Friday afternoon at the M. P. church and largely attended. Interment was at the Union Cemetery where the K. of P. held appropriate exercises. Frank McMillan, a Panhandle brake man and son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Blackburn, who mysteriously disap peared from his home in Pittsburg after he had drawn his pay, has been heard from at Kansas City. Creager, his father and grandchild, and tore a wheel off, near Newport, Sunday evening. Mrs. Creager had just returned from the hospital and it was quite a shock to her nervous system. Robert Marshall, of N. Main street, died last Friday night at the age of 34 years, 11 months, of consumption from which he had been a sufferer for a long time. Funeral services were held Sun day afternoon, with interment at the Union Cemetery. The decease was a step brother of Mrs. R. C. Wells, of the Bon Ton store. Joseph and Francis, the infant twins of Mr.and Mrs. D. J. Sells died last Friday and Saturday, of cholera infant um, at the home on North First street, Dennison, at the age of seven months. One died Friday afternoon and the oth er Saturday morning. Funeral services held Sunday afternoon with interment at the Catholic cemetery. A host of friends sympatize with the bereaved parents in their double affliction. Last Friday evening the wreck train was called to Uhrich street crossing where a box car was off the track. It had bumped over the ties from the C. L. W. crossing but was not noticed. The wreck train replaced the car in about 15 minutes. As the wreck train was crossing Third street it ran against John Spielman and knocked him from his wheel, but fortunately did not injure him. Mr. Spielman did not see the ap proaching train. The enterprising firm of Evans Stephenson, of Cadiz, O., dealers in Monumental and Cemetery work, have closed a contract with M. W. Clarke for a fine Sarcophagus monument in memory of his late wife to be erected on his lot in the Green Lawn cemetery. The mater ial to be used will be the best dark Barre granite. A statue representing ‘‘Memo ry,’’ a female figure in easy repose, will form the attraction. The contractors say it will be the finest in Eastern Ohio. A number of representative citizens of the twin cities met at the law office of Elson and Hilton in Dennison last Friday night for the purpose organizing a Savings and Loan association. A committee consisting of Messrs. Liffing well, Schoonover, Roberts, Aires, Moody, Hill, Hass, Finney, Rumbaugh, and Hayes were appointed to solicit stock. A committee was also appointed to draft by laws and make application for a charter. A permanent organiza tion will be off at their next meet ing which will be‘n August 9.
