Father McGrnth wua delighted at the number who visited there to help him in the laudable object for which the affair was started. Powers court, where the festival was held, is one of the most beautiful place* along the line and one could not help regretting that it was not utilized asA Summer Hotelor applied to some equally useful purpose. It has magnificent grounds and Us eligible situation and facilities are so apparent that it would be the resort of the line. Kr. McGrath and his corps of fsdslanta speedily put all at their ease, however. The grounds were roamed about by the visitors, cricket, football, etc, Ftarl- 1 eel, and dancing to the music of the T. A, Hand,indulged in. A generous lt;repast was served at tables spread in the open air, and the viands, ioclu- 1 sivc of abundance of iLuscious Strawberries, partaken of with a relish they would in no wise possess, if served under 1 ordinary circumstances. It was a ^ picnic and a pleasurable one,and the 1 little shortcomings incidental to such 1 affairs only served to make every- * body more at ease and to stimulate £ them to greater enjoyment of the oc- J casion, Everyone was well satisfied when, at 8 o'clock a start was made for the train. Three trains were required to bring in the excursionists. 1 First, one of three cars in charge of Mr. Ilowlett, arrived here at 9.10; then the regular—five care—with Mr. Liddy as conductor, at 9.30; and St. n Andrews special—two cars—-with v Mr. A. S. Noble shortly after nd 1* night.
