DOMESTIC INFELICITY.■Cum and Step-Cliildrcn tlie Cause—llnvings of a C’razy Drunken Man.Robert Cairns anti his wife keep a boarding house on East Avenue. Mrs. C., when she became the wife of Robert, some six years ago, was a widow with half a dozen children. As is often the case, these step-cliildren have sometimes been the cause of domestic discord between husband and wife. Another more potont element of discord—the rum bottle— has also occasionally lent its aid to create family broils. Robert is ordinarily an industrious, peaceable citizen, who is well spoken of by the boarders in the family. But on Tuesday night, having been imbibing somewhat, about midnight, after he had gone to bed, he concluded to get up with the avowed purpose of castigating one of Mrs. C.’s boys for some alleged misconduct—stealing, we believe. The boy, hearing the threats, jumped out of the window, and fled to his grandmother’s at Mecbanictown, whither he was followed by his mother. On Wednesday, upon complaint of his wife, a warrant was issued for Cairns arrest. Officer Parsons proceeded to the house to arrest him, whereupon Cairns ordered him from the premises, swearing that he wouldn’t be taken alive, and raving in a fearful manner, to the terror of that usually quiet neighborhood. Officer Adams was called in to assist, and the man, despite his resistance, was taken to the lock-up, where he passed the night. He made night hideous with his howlings and profanity and waitings, keeping the people awake for several blocks from the station house. This (Thursday) morning he was arraigned before Justice Pow-elson, who fined him the amount of the costs of the prosecution, and required him to give bonds in $1,000 to keep the peace.Ik'I(1IIIpaiopcthiiCoiofwodo*ingothlerrolforsura liSuiwainfromewhtheamam“ifterthiwaithitheprogui3 o car sta wh yot
