Funeral Of John McDonald Held At Nevada, IowaFormer Well Known. Graettinger ManFuneral services for the late .John F. McDonald, long1 time resident of Story county, who passed away on Wednesday, July 18, at the hospital iit Webster City, was held at St. Cecelia's Catholic church at Arnes on Saturday morning- at 9:00 a. m., with the Rev. N. A. Steffen officiating-.The pall hearers were Lew, Harold, Ed and Fred Heintz, of Nevada, Albert Burley of Nevada, and Ed Reiley of Ames. Committal was in the family lot in the Catholic cemetery in Nevada.John Frank McDonald, son of Belinda and Dominic McDonald, was born in Lanark, Illinois, August 2, 1808, where he lived until 17 years of age when with his parents he moved to Ames.On October 22, 1890, he was united in marriage at Nevada to Mattie Belle Cunningham, To this union 10 children were born, all of whom survive with the exception of the oldest daughter, Florence Elizabeth, who passed away December G, 1928.The sons are John, Harry, Robert, (diaries and James, of Palo Alto county; and the daughters, Sadie and Agnes Strain of Webster City, Mary Vogt of Dos Moines, and Alice Larson of Nevada.He leaves his four sisters, Mrs, Charles Hallowell, of Ontario, Mrs, Willis Guise of Tabor, Mrs. Robert Kelly, of Madelia, Minn., and Mrs. Foster Parker of Des Moines, and two brothers, Charles and William Meiers. He also leaves GO grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.Mr. McDonald farmed north of Nevada on the T. O. Thompson farm, for about 18 years. His friends were numbered by his acquaintances. Hal he lived until August 8, 1945, hewould have been 77 years of age.Out of town relatives who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. John McDonald and daughters Eloise and Betty; Mrs. Harvey Eld ridge, James McDonald and Gaitha of Graettinger; Mr. and Mrs. Max Strain and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Strain, of Webster City; Mr. and Mrs. Harry McDonald, Mr. and Mrs. Glen McDonald, Mr. and Mrs. Robert McDonald and Charlotte and Donna; Mrs. Maxine Jacobson and Kenneth of Emmets-burg; Mr. and Mrs. Charles McDonald of Ruthven; Mr. ami Mrs. Roy Vogt and Barbara and Rose Mary of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Pete Pat-tenburg and Lt. Charles Pattenburg, Mrs. Charles Hallowell of Ontario; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Meiers of Boone; Ralph Thompson of Missouri Valley, and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Kingsburg of Jordan.—Nevada Evening Journal*
