Mrs. Bertha Skeels Dies Wednesday of Joint DiseasesMrs. Bertha Skeels, 72, resident here for twenty-nine years, passed away Wednesday afternoon, July 31, 1935, at one o'clock at her home on East Pine street Suffering for the past several * years from arthritis, Mrs. Skeels Buffered a strokeof apoplexy andgraduallyages of the ailment Short funeral .services will be held Friday noon: at 12:15 o'clock at the Cobb funeral home, and at two o'clock rites will take place atthe Little Sioux Vallejf Lutheran church near Rembrandt, of which she was a member. Burial will take place in the church cemetery, lived In Storm Lake Mrs. Skeels wkS born October 2 1862, in Winneshiek county, Iowa, the daughter of Arne P.' and Bertha (Hanson) Brandvold. She was united in marriage to B. F. Skeels in July of 1887,' and they lived for many years at Storm Lake. Mr. Skeels is deceased.Surviving are two children, Dr. W. B. Skeels of Rockford, III., and Mrs. F. R. Gleason of Litchfield, Minn., a daughter, Grace, passing away in 1922) Grandchildren are Robert and Warren Skeels of Rockford, Dortha, Donald and Barbara Gleason of Litchfield, and Marian Trenery of Los Angeles, Calif., the latter being the daughter of Mrs. Grace Trenery.There are also three sisters and a brother .Mrs. W. H. Parrish of Sioux Falls, Mrs. Rachel Enge-bretson of Storm Lake, Mrs. AdolphEngebretson of Granite Falls, and George Brandvold of Rembrandt.
