John placed seventh of twelve, on the state rifle team, selected from scores fired in the last day’s shooting. Last year John was 13th, taking his place on the team when someone else drop-fed out. This was a noticeable rise among the best sharpshooters in tho state.John won a silver medal for second place in the first event; 20U yards sitting, slow fire and 300 yards prone, slow fire. He won a bronze medal tor third place in the second event; 20 shots, 200 yards offhand.
