Vidalia, Ga., July 29—John Collins, farmer of near Oak Park, was killed yesterday morning about sunrise by his son, Earnest Collins, whos about thirteen years of age. The weapon was a shotgun at short range and death resulted almost instantaneous ly. According to telephone messages from Oak Park, Collins came home about sunrise after being away all night and brought a jug of whisky with him. He started an altercation with Mrs. Collins, she receiving rath er rough treatment until the son, be ‘coming frightened for her well-being, ‘secured the shotgun and placing it in his father’s back, pulled the trigger. Mr. Collins was a farmer of about 40 years of age and leaves a consider able connection in this section, altho his immediate family consists of his widow and son, Earnest. The Collins home [3 about three miles from Oak Park.
