Hoy Nicholl, aged 12, the son lt;rf Mr. and Mrs. William Nlcholi, of this city, was f the victim of a serious and mysterious lt;accident, vThe boy, according to his story, was fc passing some ice houses near the rivei In the southeastern j ortion of the city , when, without the slightest warning, J( an ax ca»ne flying through the air, n striking him about three inches above ^ the ankle and nearly severing his leg. . No one was seen about the ice house* j p.rd these who have Investigated are. . at a loss to know' who could have 1 hurled the ax. The hoy in some man- . uer unknown to himself, managed tc ; make his way home a short distance away, where the wound was promptly ^ bandaged. He was then hurried to a [ hospital, where he now is.
