MIRACULOUS ESCAPE ON 13TH STREET CROSSINGClothing of Mrs. Knotsar Caught on Pilot of Engln#— Fabric GivesWay and She Falls Out of Harm's Way.Mrs Jane Knetsar, venerable moth* er of Boyd Knetsar, formerly of Moline, and herself a veteran resident here, ejcped with onJy minor bruises In an accident last Tuesday at the Thirteenth street crossing of the Rock island road She was struck by switch engine No. 132, while walking south across the track, and it seemed as though she escaped being drftgged under the engine as though by a miracle.Mrs Knetsar had almost cleared the track when a corner of the pilot of the engine caught her skirt. Horrified spectators expected to see her drawn under the wheels The dress goods gave way under the strain, and sh» collapsed on the south side of the tracks before the engineer, who hadthrown his ‘brakes into emergency,could stop the engineHe went to her assistance and wlto the aid of men who were passing car rled her to a bench in front of the restaurant on Thirteenth street just south of the tracks Thero she was revived, and after a rest and recovery from the shock she was able to walk back to her rooms at the Arlington—for merly the Windsor- hotel
