From June 25-29, John McRae, president of Univer sity High’s TAFE chapter, and sponsors Annette Perez and Sue Johnson attended a summer leader ship workshop held at South western University in Georgetown. While there, McRae was elected president of his unit. On July 5, McRae, Robert Mar sh, Tamra Fuentes, Kathryn Peters, Becky Storm, and Lisa Moore met with sponsors Annette Perez, Rosemary Patterson, Rod Carter, and Sue Johnson to discuss projects for UHS’s TAFE chapter this fall. UHS is serving as the District XII President’s School and will host a district conference in the fall. were ways of showing teacher appreciation, of promoting educational awareness, of providing service to the school and com munity, of tutoring, of raising fun ds for future educator scholarships, and of promoting leadership. Social activities were also planned as well as a workshop to teach parliamen tary procedures. Officers for 1989-90 are as follows: President - John McRae; Vice-Presidents - Robert Marsh and Tamra Fuestes; Secretary - Kathryn Peters; and Treasurer Becky Storm. FANS FOR CARITAS—MclLennan Chapter No. 639, Order of the Eastern Star, purchased 15 fans from Mr. Bennett at the K-Mart store on Loop 340, and gave to Caritas for the needy people. Presenting the fans to Dr. Eugene Jud, Executive Director, are Cathy Rose, Worthy Matron, and Elmo Rose, Worthy Patron. Hazel Nesmith, associate matron, par ticipated in the donation.
