AMBOY— Kim Taylor, Dix on, sang an a om composi tion and played her own guitar accompaniment to win top hon ors in the Lee County Talent Contest at the 4-H Fair Thurs day night. She was presented with a blue ribbon and $100 prize and will represent Lee County at the state contest in Springfield next January. Named first runner-up was a tumbling trio composed of Tami Trulock, Sara Kessel and Mary Ann Fichter, Dixon. They received a $50 award. The Baby Dolls, a stand tumbling act of Dixon, placed third and received a $25 award. Fourth place went to Dennis Schaefer and Marie Lemme, a singing duo with guitar accom paniment. Carrie Wilkins, Dix on, was fifth for singing and playing piano. Other contestants were Rusty and Jody Loomis, Amboy, Chris Pitzer, Amboy, and The Entertainers. The master of ceremonies was Kim Michael, Peoria, and Elaine Egan, Dixon, was guest performer. Miss Egan has been invited to sing and play her gui tar at the state fair later this month. Hurt as bicycle, car collide ROCHELLE — Gregory P. Pruett, 13, 411 Cherry Ave., was treated and released at Ro chelle Community Hospital following a car-bicycle accident Thursday on US. 51 at First Ave. Pruett was injured after his bicycle was struck by an auto operated by Floyd J. Smelcer, 50, 701 Dennis. A witness to the accident saw the Smelcer ve hicle hit the boy who was riding in the gravel on the shoulder of U.S. 51 and reported it to police after Smelcer left the scene of the accident. Smelcer was charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the was being held in jail under bond and will appear in court at a later time.
