B. A.”! herself.Some «if tl o highlights, among the many prevalent, were:The masterful sermon delivered by Reverend R. W. Woullard of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The sermon was inspiring and very informative. Our hearts were made to rejoice.The re-dedication and consecration services by Reverend Gray of Mt. Olive. Mississippi, and the lovely medly of songs that were sung so touchingly by Mr. Johnnie Robinson of the Strayhorn Funeral Home. The Association is grateful to Mr. Robinson for taking time out to come and play this important role in our program.The workshop conducted was very helpful to the local presidents and all went home better informed as to the working of the Association in general.The recreation period was very amusing. All of the presidents, I members and non-members took a I part in the recreation and enjoyed the relaxation very much. The music was furnished by our own Mrs. Bettie Faulkner of Ellis.vilie. Mis-her heart fell ppr*-At the close of r ,at ion ourThe quarterly prize was also u-warded to Mrs. Smith for being thefirst president to get her report in witn a membership of fifty or more. Mrs. Smith’s total membership is ‘ 175.imembership stands at 8135, with presidents to make reports of delinquent members.Annually we award two prizes to the presidents for having the first and second largest number of members present during the Convention. A check on the members present showed that Mrs. Smith was entitled to first prize in that she had 54 of her members present during Talent Night and they all were beautifully dressed in white with H. B. A. caps. They made such a beautiful showing that the Secretary had the photographer to make a picture of the group.Three claims wore p; id during the Convention. The claimants werepaid the same amount as those paid in the June Board, S215.00.We are grateful to all who played a part, regardless to how small, in helping to make this a successful Convention.Thus closed the 68th Annual Session of the Holbrook Benevolent Association.M. L. Larkin, General SecretaryMr.*H. S. Jones of Paulding, Mississippi, has taken the prize home for several years, however, he will get second prize this time instead of first prize.
