Fkkkman;—Thinking that per-hcips it might interest some of the j readers of your valuable paper, I wish to say a lew cheering words in praise oi the honey-bee, that greatest pattern of industry withiiig my knowl-i edge.Two years aao last May I bought a swarm of bees of A. L, Kier of Prospect, getting them home just before the s wanning season commenced. It swarmed twice and I took olt iS Ik*, of surplus honey. When winter carce on I put them in the cellar. I have n, dry. well ventilated cellar. In the spring, on examining them)s I found they had wintered in good ^hapeand were strong healthy swarms. I carried them cut, placed ibem on the stands, and they cosnmeuxI to do business, I and xvhen the season was up I had 12 j swarms o:: bees and 250 Ihs.o/ surplus honey.Jbiibt iall I put. them in.iJiu cellar again, but tlio winter being uuld they j became uneasy, and 1 thought perhaps : they would do ms well or better out of doors, SO I carried them out and placed them on their stands. They wintered all light, and this season lias been another boom for them, lor I have now 20 swarms of bees and 500 lbs. of surplus honey, making in the three seasons an increase from 1 to 29 swarms arid 798 tbs. of honey.
