long maruuua wuuuut -—A SWEDISH METEORITE.At a recent meeting of the Swedish Geological Society Professor Nordenatfold showed the meteorite which fell at Siandsgard, a tew miles from Bngleholm, Sweden, on April 9, 18S9. The meteorite was secured at once tor the Swedish State Muauem at a considerable sacrifice, and the'oircu instances of the fall were described by several eye-witnesses. Some described the sound aa an explosion or shot from a cannon, after which a sort or pipiog sound appears to have been heard, like an organ save one of the witnesses. The light o the meteorite was extinguished with the explosion. The meteorite was. as usual, surrounded by a melted shell, the result of thefriction against the atmosphere. Otherwise it consists of a heavy greyish lump, about the size of a head, evidently only forming a frag • meat of an original larger body. It consists otehondrite with specks of metallic iron,
