Walter H. BeltzServices for Walter H. Beltz, 76, formerly of rural North Liberty were held at1:30 p.m. Friday, April 25 at the George L. Gay Funeral Home in Iowa City. Burial was in Ridgewood Cemetery, North Liberty. He died Tuesday morning, April 22 at Mercy Hospital after a shortillness.A memorial fund has been established.Mr. Beltz was born Sept 12, 1909, in Johnson County, a son of Uriah and Eliza Jenkins Beltz. He married Martha Alice Smith on Feb. 28, 1934, in Clinton, Ark. She died Dec. 16, 1983. He worked for several restaurants in Johnson County before retiring.Survivors include three daughters,Florence (Mrs. Frank) Dvorak, Thelma (Mrs. M arvin) Si m mons, both of Cedar Rapids, and June (Mrs. Richard) White of North Liberty; threesons, Robert of Amana, Ronald of Watkins and Norman of North Liberty; 17grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Two brothers and a sister died earlier.
