Sheriff’s detectives Thursday arrested the second of two prisoners who had allegedly smashed their way out of the county jail in Oxnard two days earlier. Raymond Caballero, 23, who had been serving 90 days for a narcotics violation, was arrested at a relative’s home on Eliza Court in Oxnard, detectives said. The other prisoner, Frank Gonzales, 24, also serving 90 days for a narcotics offense, was captured just two blocks from the jail after the break Tuesday evening. An Oxnard fireman said he gave chase after he spotted two running men, dressed in jail coveralls. The fireman, William Denny, caught Gonzales. The two allegedly smashed open a door with a dining table when their cellblock was left alone for a “‘cooling off” period after a dining-hour disturbance. A sheriff's spokesman said the department has been notified that Caballero also is an alleged fugitive from the California Rehabilitation Center at Corona.
