Plaids Carry With SpringWhite dotted swiss parasols trimmed with spring bouquets of pink tulips, blue iris and yellow jonquils were carried by Denise Mary Harris’ attendants when she became the bride April 3 of John Edward McMorrow Jr. The maids also wore ruffled picture hats of white dotted swiss topping their flounced jumper ensembles of pink dotted swiss with matching blouses of white dotted swiss.Denise, daughter of the Richard H. Harrises of Colona, 111., and John, son of the John E. McMorrows of Mount Prospect, are both graduates of Western Illinois University at Macomb and both are now teaching in Belvidere, 111. Denise teaches fourth grade and John teaches elementary school art. The groom is also a graduate of Prospect High School.The couple’s wedding took place in St. Patrick Catholic Church in Colona with Rev. Charles DeWitte officiating at the 11:30 a.m. service. Church decorations were a floor stand of white gladioli.FOR HER MARRIAGE Denise chose a floor-length Empire A-line gown of organza and Venise lace. Venise lace flowers accented the short bishop sleeves, the watteau chapel train and the front of her gown. She wore the heirloom cross of her great-great-grandmother and carried an arrangement of white roses, jonquils and hyacinths from which draped a large pearl rosary. Her headpiece held an el-bow-length veil. She was given in marriage by her fatherMiss Lynette DeDecker, a cousin from East Moline, 111., served as Denise’s maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the groom’s sister Miss Patricia of Mount Prospect, Miss Susan Busenbark of Colona and Mrs. Kathy Lyon of East Moline.Mrs. John E. McMorrow Jr.Attending the bridegroom was his brother Gary of Mount Prospect as best man, and Robert Kenison of Dundee, and Gregory Krisco and a cousin Dennis Bur-itz, both of Chicago, as ushers.The buffet reception for 200 guests was held in the church hall where Mrs. Harris received in a blue coat and dress ensemble of French lace. Mrs. McMorrow chose an aqua dress of silk shantung, and both mothers chose white orchid corsages.The newlyweds honeymooned for a week at Lake of the Ozarks and are now making their home in Marengo, 111.
