Appleton Xavier notched its first dual meet victory of the outdoor track season , crushing Menasha St Mary. 102-16. Tues day afternoon on the Appleton West track The Hawks had double win ners in Mike Ferron, who captured firsts in the 100-yard dash in 104 seconds and the 440 in 535, and in Bill Pfefferle, victor in the discus at 138 feet, 1 inch and in the high jump at 5- 7 St Mary had one clear winner in Loren Miller in the 220 in a 237-second clocking, and John Hoolihan tied for first in the pole vault Hoolihan and Xavi er’s Dick Koller each cleared 9 feet, 6 inches Remaining Xavier individual winners in the meet were Steve Hardy in the high hurdles (4615), Mark Kramer in the mile (4:54.7), Ed Wenning in the low hurdles (21.5), Mark Wolfgram in the 880 (2:07.5), Jim Erchul in the shot put (45- 11) and Bob Burch in the long jump (1864). The Hawks also capped both relays Running for Xavier in 880 relay were Jeff Nack, Ira Rock, Phil Gloudemans, and Tom Van Susteren in a 1:39 clocking. The quartet of Kevin Lally, Van Susteren, Gloudemans, and Hardy stepped off a 3:51.8 clocking to take the mile relay.
