Frank Roberts Sr., of Twillingate, » News ‘foundland. At ‘the age of 79, after a short illness, at the home of ‘his son Frank Jr. of 594 — “Lith ° Sr Brooklyn, He has been living with his family in Brooklyn during the winter months of the last four years He leaves three sons, Thackeray, Frank Jr. and Laurie all of Brook lyn two daughters, Emily (Mrs. C. Woolley) of New Jersey and Joyce (Mrs. R. Sparks) of the Bronx, N.Y. Laurie, an officer on an American ship is at present overseas. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Lavinia Roberts, re siding at Swillingate, at the age af $1. During his short ilness of four days, the family was fortunate in having the service of Miss Stells Manuel, Heaa Nurse of the Me morial Hospital at Twillingate, Uncle Prank. I am sure enjoyed and looked forward to the ananual visit there with his family and the multitude of friends who enjoyed his presence among them. He intended to return to Twillingate about May 15th. Only a few days before he be came ill, a friend asked him how he felt, and he replied, as he so ‘many times had been heard to say, Fine, five, Never felt better in ‘my fife.’ The funeral service was held at the Park Slope Methodist Church, Sixth Avenue and Fight Street, Brooklyn, on Wednesday evening, March 30. The service was con ducted by the pastor, the Rev. R. Roberts, who delivered an inspir ing message taken from the 14th chapel of the Gospel of St. John and the 15th chapter of fist Corinthians. Rev. Roberta re ferred several times to the active, jolly and sincere life of the de ceased. The thymns sung at the service were: My Faith looks up to Thee Nearer my God to Thee (duet) Jesus Saviour pilot me. A fraternal service was held after the religious service, by the Masons, of which he was a member for 56 years. Led by the chaplain, who paid their final reapecta to their late brother. All members of the Masons and the congregation which filled the Church to capacity, filled pass the bier, individually expressing their sorrow and remembrances of their late brother and friend. His parting will be missed by many both here and in Newfound land, where he spent the greater part of his life with the Coastal Shipping Trade. Inferment at Twillingate.
