Old Fiddlers ToHold Reunion InAthens on May 28Athens, Texas, April 22. — The annual Old Fiddlers Reunion will be held this year on Friday, May 28th, it was announced by C. H. Stanton, general manager.With only a short time’ remaining before the greatest fun fest of the year, Stanton says that everything is shaping up to make this 13th reunion one of the best in its history.Having its modest beginning some fifteen years ago in a farm community, six miles north of Athens, the Texas Fiddlers Association has grown to be one of the “biggest” single day attractions in this part of the country.Last year more than 35,000 persons came to this East Texas city to witness what has come to be one of the highlights of the entertainment world. Wide publicity is given the Old' Fiddlers Reunion, as it is one of the few old time customs that remain in this modern age.“It appears that instead of fading out of the picture, the Old Fiddlers are gaining monentum each year, and more and more people come to Athens to hear the old time tunes that built an empire out of the southwest,” commented one spokesman for the Texas Fiddlers Association.Everything that goes with the days’ entertainment has been lined up for the annual Festivity. Broadcasting stations will be here as usual ,and many newspapers will have men in Athens to cover the day’s program. So, resin up your bow, and plan right now to be here on Friday, May 28th, for one of the biggest shows on earth. Bands are requested to send in their entries at once for the contest. *-
