The Studabaker Grain Seed Com pany is a corporation organized in July 1913, to succeed the firm of John Studabaker and Son. They have elevators operating at Bluffton, Liberty Center, Van Buren, Roseburg, Linn Grove and Vera Cruz. The officers of the company are: Jas. W. Sale, presi dent; A. B. Cline, vice president; H. H. Deam, secretary and treasurer; directors; R. 8. Todd, C.D. Garrett and P. 8. Howard. They buy and sell grain, hay, seeds and wood. The retail department here handles coal feed stuffs, fertilizers, lime, cement, etc. The firm has enjoyed a prosperous year and is one of the largest in this part of the state. The Bluffton Implement Company, succeeding H. H. Groh Co., is com posed of the following men: Louis Groh, Chas, Gilliam,and Fred Drayer. Mr. Groh’ is the manager and has built up a lucrative business. They occupy the room, on North Main street formerly held by H. Hiester Furniture store, and have been there for fourteen years. They carry a fine line of implements and harness. Mr. Groh, the manager, is popular and well liked and is a ‘fine fellow to do business with. The Hitchcock Fetters Agency was established in 1875 and has been doing business in the same location for a third of a century. It is rec ognized as the leading insurance agency in the county, writing more business’ and paying more leases than all other geenales combined. The agency writes, all lines of insurance, fire, lightning,‘cyclone, tornado, ligbis ‘jty, steam, boiler, livestock, automo bile ‘and Dlate glass. The equitable and prompt payment of losses has made the firm,one of the most autherentistans the county.
