Special to The Herald, ALAMITOS BAY, April 29—A. C. Parsons’ forty-foot auto launch is re ceiving Its finishing touches. The ma hogany decks and interior finish will have a plane polish and all seats are to be upholstered with fine leather, and it will be furnished with wicker chairs. The Ross Marine company here is at the work. The same company has received a tithe in Shirley.O. Ward of les for a high speed launch, be finished in six wee! It is to be finished in selected mahogany, and the controlling levers and a steering Wheel will be arranged like an auto mobile, Mrs. ©. 8. Whiting’s racing boat, built by the sarhe company, is nearly ready to be launched. Her boat is finished in teak and white cedar with lame polish. he sewer system established here by A. G. Bent of Los Angeles is com pleted and experts pronounce it very successful. The speedway is approaching com pletion. It is promised by the con tractors that it will be ready for use by May 6. Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Stoes of Los Angeles are comfortably established in apartments at the Rialto. Miss P. B.. Painter, an artist from Los Angeles, is also copying a suite of rooms at the Rialto, and proposes to transfer some of the beautiful scenery abounding hereabouts to canvas. Clair Morris of Los Angeles came down on Wednesday to look over his property, and left an order for the immediate erection of a seven-room house on the bay front, near the Channel 1 club house. The West Naples dredger is now working on the north waterway, hav ing made the turn ‘ror the south Waterway into its present position in safety. These two Waterways are con nected by a horseshoe bend, which will make a three-mile canal 100 feet wide. The bulkheading will be faced with concrete, with steps of the same lead ing up from the water at intervals of several hundred feet, and bridges of the same substantial material are to be built at all the streets. Mrs. Anderson Dixon has recovered from her severe illness. Which will be 4 news for her many friends, both re and in Los Angeles.
