We should, perhaps, remark, that the above mentioned articles, except such as have been or will be given directly to the soldiers’ families, have been or will be sold, and the proceeds given to those families. When it is considered that this de monstration was ill, we believe, gotten up by Centre township, we think it will be conceded to have been quite credita ble, and hard to beat. ANOTHER Victim —The Indianapo lis Journal of Wednesday of last week, we believe, announced the death at that place of consumption of BEW. Kinuar aged 30 years = [tsubut a year since, after great daggers and suffering, he made his escape from Texas, hunted down like a wild beast for his Union sentiments. Our readers will recollect our account of his speech at this place last summer on his return. The terri ble trials he underwent no doubt hasten ed his disease. So fleeing from Texas he was compelled to leave his wife and family to the tender mercies of the vil est traitors that ever cursed the earth. They will probably long be ignorant of the fate of the husband and father, as he was of theirs. What a melancholy, heart-breaking tragedy is involved in the statement of these few facts! Great ‘God! what a reckoning must theu have in store for the authors of so many like scenes of unutterable misery. William Boyd, a son in-law of B. I. Martin of this place, who resided at the same place as Mr. Kinnan, we believe, is still there with his family, if not forced into the rebel army. A younger brother of Mr. Kinnan, who subsequently made his escape alon e from Texas, died some time since in consequence of what he had undergone, at the residence of his mother ate or near Indianapolis.
