JD®-W'e have hitherto neglected tomen-' Hon the fact that N. Root, who some years ■ ago shot bis son-in-law, £. C. Posier, at MtPleasani, in this county, and who upon trial for the offence was acquitted on the ground of insanity and since that time confined by order of the Court has been forwarded to the care of his son in Canada. Henry Adams Esq., chairman of the board of county commissioners, went with Mr. Root to Canada, and describes the meeting between, the father and son as truly affecting. Let us hope that Mr. Root may he kindly treated and that under its soothing influences he may pass the few remaining days of his life in the pos session of hia reason and in peace.
