A tea Saturday afternoon n oted Mrs. Bernice Long, along with her three sons, Car rel, Curtis and Gary will be joining Mr. Odell Long in Ama rillo, Tex., to make their home at the end of the current school term. Mr. Long has been in Amarillo since March and is employed by Sid Stout Ford there. The tea was held in the recep tion room of the Oklahoma Motor Bank Building. It was planned and given by Mrs. Bessie Bement. As a surprise later in the afternoon a birthday party was given by the honoree for the hostess as friends and relatives from Wetumka and Borger, Tex., were present at the tea. A book review was given by Mrs. Hazel Sheppard, sister-in law of the hostess. She chose John Glenn Story, which tells of his orbit into space. Corsages were presented the speaker, Mrs. Sheppard, and the honoree, Mrs. Bement, formerly of We tumka, now resides with the Bowie Ballard Jr. family at 931 East 17th. Her birthday was Sunday, April 24. A two-tiered white cake decorated with pink cabbage roses was presented her along with many gifts as the birthday song was sung by all present. The cake along with a variety of cookies and nuts was served with coffee and spiced tea. Mrs. Jacquetta Monk regis tered the guests. Out-of-town guests attending were Mrs. Juanita Ekstrand, and Miss Opal Thomason, Bor ger, Tex.; sisters of the hostess, Mrs. Hazel Sheppard and Opal Sharber, both of Wetumka, sisters-in-law of the hostess: Mrs. Iona Rash, Mrs. Lodell Fulks, Mrs. Wanda Hall, Mrs. Eula Powell, Mrs. Lucille Can ard and Mrs. Zelda Kirby, all of Wetumka. Ada guests were Mrs. Dorothy Milligan, Mrs. Nettie Wilburn, Mrs. Sadie Clark, Mrs. Ruby Gale Jackson, Mrs. Juanita Russell, Mrs. Ruth Reed, Mrs. Gladys Grisso, Mrs. Joyce Davenport, Mrs. Mary Barrett, Mrs. Len Rogers, Mrs. Odra Clark, Mrs. Jacquetta Monk, Mrs. Bessie Bement, Mrs. Ber nice Long and Misses Loretta and Mary Jon Ballard.
