Friends, by the time you read this, the day of decision will not be far off. Next Tuesday, you will cast your ballot for the candidates of your choice. My only regret is that I haven’t been able to see all of you personally, but I hope that my record and conduct during this campaign has impressed you enough that you'll consider me favorably. I have tried to run a fair, decent campaign, and I wish to express my sincere thanks to my opponents for doing likewise. I hope the fact that my being able to come into your homes by means of radio for the past three years will enable you to feel that you know me, even though I haven’t seen you personally. During this race, I have tried to be myself, be cause I do not believe in putting on airs for the sake of trying to gain votes. If you honor me with this nomination, I shall go on the ‘ge myself and do everything within my power to make you never regret placing your confi dence and trust in me. I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful re ception you gave me at all the rallies and in your homes. I also want to thank those who have given encouragement and support to my campaign. This is my first time to ask for a public office and your consideration and vote next Tuesday will be greatly appreci ated. However, the decision is yours, and I shall be happy to a bide by your wishes. May I urge all of you to go to the polls and vote . .. vote for V. E. (Low) Waters for Tax Assessor, if you can... if not, let’s all vote for somebody. V. E. (“Lon”) WATERS (Pd. pol. adv. by V. E. Waters, Cullman, Ala.) V. E. (“Lon”) WATERS
