Mrs. John T. Muir Young Jon Robson may be a motion picture star of tomorrow, we read in the Magazine Tucson, April 1949. Jon, who is a fourteen year old Tucson high school soph omore, was discovered at the age of ten by Mrs. Mary MacMurtrie director of the Tucson Children’s Theatre, and received his first training under her guidance. Jon is now continuing his work in dramatics at high school under the tutelage of Lloyd E. Roberts. While with the Tucson Child ren's Theatre, he appeared in that groups presentation of “The Piper,” carried the title role in “Tom Sawyer” and did several one act and radio sketches. This season he also took part in the Brackett and Rathburn stock company's presentation of “Our Town,”and the University of Arizona Dramatic Department's “The Sunken Well.” Jon is an excellent student. He is a member of the Order of De Molays and is an officer in the Youth Fellowship Group of the First Methodist church. He is one of the many great grand children of Nicholas Hughes a pioneer of New Mexico in 1856 and Josefa Armijo of Old Town Albuquer que, who were married in 1863. He is a grandson of John and Mary Robson of the well known Box M ranch, early pioneers of Lordsburg. Mr. John Robson was for years president of The First National Bank of Lordsburg.
