Holekamp and wife re turned Tuesday from a visit with their sons in San Antonio. Their daughter, Mrs. Chamber lin of Galveston, met them in the city. Carlton is the name of the 814 pound boy, born to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Tibbett, at San An tonio on the 16th inst. Mrs. Tibbett and the youngster are expected home this week-end. A letter and renewal was re ceived this week from A. J. Sikes, out in the Owensville country. Mr. Sikes has not been in function in some time, and we presume that he, like all other ranchmen these days, is very busy. Prof. Albert Bierschwabe who is teaching at the Reservation school in Kerr County, expects to attend the Summer School at A. M. Joseph. 22tp Tnele Punkin Adams was in town Monday from his ranch above Roosevelt. He was ac companied by Mack Shaw of San Angelo, who is visiting him unele Punkin says his wife and Mr. Shaw are in the chicken business. Mrs. Adams looks after the chickens, Mr. Shaw shoots the hawks and he does the bossing. Tom Parker from the Nox ville country, was a business visitor in town Monday and took a few minutes to call at The Eagle office to pay his sub scription. Everybody in that end of the county is busy and stockmen are feeling good over the fine lamb and kid crop, the excellent range conditions and good prices. About twenty-five men are now busy digging holes for the distribution poles along the streets of town for the West Texas Utilities Company. The holes are six feet deep and about sixteen inches in diame ter, and 35 and 40 feet poles sill be set, except where high er ones are needed. The main line leading from the sub-sta tion is on 60 feet poles. _Rev J. A. Dekle and Henry Pippin were in Mason a few hours Tuesday. $100.00 REWARD Will be paid by me for return of sheep recently stolen from me and conviction of the guilty narties. WwWWN Warrican Willis Mason, wife and small son will soon move to the Paint Creek Ranch headquarters where they will make their home, Mr. Mason having re signed his position as an in spector and accepted a position with the Schreiner interests. During the three or four years the Masons have lived here they have made many close fiends who will regret to know that they are to move away from the town. Mr. Mason is widely known over the Hill Country, having had several bounties under his supervision. Wm. Jordan and daughter of Fredericksburg were in Junc tion Wednesday on their way home from the Green ranch in Sutton County, where they have had some cattle on pasture since last year. Mr. Jordan is ‘a first cousin of Edgar Jordan's father. He was carrying the mail between Fredericksburg and Junction when this county was organized. The mail route ‘then came through Harper and Noxville, to Segovia, and across the hills and down Cedar Creek to town. This was at the time when Mr. Harper, the founder of the town that bears his name, was just starting to put it on the map, and of course there was no post office at that place or at either Noxville or Segovia. The trips were made on horse-back or in light buggy. BASKET PICNIC Everybody is heartily invited to attend the Gentry school closing picnic May 8th, at the King Fisher crossing.
