Flower Ig Peculiarly a Growth of Indiana State.Hundreds of students of Indiana University visited Arbutus Hill to gather the rare flowers growing there, which gives tbo hill its names. The arbutus is to Indiana what the May flower Is to New' England, and It la found only on a few places In this stale. Arbutus hill is five miles east of Bloomington, and one of the unwritten laws of the university Is that each member of the university must visit the hiJJ before graduation. Tho flower is now In its fullest glory, and the hill swarmed with students and townspeople. Last summer a large number of teachers of the Indianapolis schools visited Bloomington, and, ai« though the flowers were not in bloom at that lime, the teachers went to tho hill and saw the plants in their natural element. A large number of blossoms were mailed to Indianapolis ami other cities. Tho arbutus is tha flower of the Indiana University, and the annual publication of Uio senior class is named in its honor.
