Tt has been truly said. “The air is full of farewells to the dying, and mournings for the dead.” It is a sad and painful task to chronicle the demise of a departed friend, the late Mrs. Caleb W. Mitchell. So true a Christian, so devoted a wife, and a kind and affectionate mother. She was a true Christian lady, and her quiet unostentatious life, her devoted piety will ever be remembered and cherished by all who knew her, and her death will be deeply mourned by her large circle of friends. Mrs. Mitchell died after a short but painful illness, which she bore with Christian fortitude and resignation. During her fatal sick ness she never murmured. She was pa tient and resigned. She met her death peacefully and sunk into that dreamless sleep from which none ever awoke, at the beginning of a bright spring day. She closed her life with many sincere and loving friends about her, all of whom knew her worth and her goodness. She was truly a lovely woman. May her husband and her children strive to emulate her Christian example. She cannot return to you, but you can join her .In that house not made with hands, eternal in the Heavens, upon whose roof falls no shadow of parting.” A FRIEND.
