A soldier in the Mexican war—in the “Rifles” was buried by a number of those who served in the war, under the command of Col. N. G. Scott, on Sunday last. Mr. Kirkham, with his regiment, was in all the great battles, from Vera Cruz to the city of Mexi co. He died on the anniversary of the battle of Cero‘Gordo in which he was engaged just ten years before. He was buried by the soldiers, at his own request.—Logan. Jour.
