Johnson, artist, who, at the invitation of Mrs. McPherson, spent a fortnight painting scenes in and around the seaside village. Mr. Johnson remarked that the Heads presented a myriad scenes for the artist's brush and was well worthy of the reputation given it by previous visits of well-known artists, including Messrs. Gruman and Will Ashton. During his two weeks' stay, Mr. Johnson completed twenty-four pictures in oils, and during his last week-end Mrs. McPherson kindly allowed her beautiful home to be temporarily turned into a miniature art gallery for the purpose of allowing th« paintings to be exhibited. On this occasion the exhibits were simply tacked to the wall in their rough state, but Mr. Johnson hopes to return to the Heads on Monday, May 8th, with the pictures re-touched and specially framed and should be a sight worth viewing. The artist expressed a desire to return at a later period and carry out a canvas depicting the whole of the grand panorama viewed from the front verandah of Mrs. MdPherson's ideally elevated residence.Trooper Bill 'Hicks and Mrs. Hicks are visiting their relatives in Macksville.Mrs. Malouf arrived home lastnatchsbuiterhistheonmobyselde^an«picthehigbuiwamaThthetorlanSt.volsorbotmoofwewitsertonigtoAnofgui
