On Saturday evening the Hamilton family entertained at “Iolanthe.” the relative* and intimate friends of the bridal couple, at n gift evening. The lounge was aglow with beautiful blooms of roses, and everyone enjoyed thoroughly die progressive games competition. Mis* Heather Galletly and Mr E. O. Grnlow were the winners and handed their prlws to the bride and brldeRrooni-rlect. Mrs. CecilShepherd sang very nicely. My Prayer. and her sister. Mrs. T. Lambert. played the plntto accompaniment. Miss M. Cameron delighted the guests with a pianoforte solo, and the party Inter Joined In community singing. A \ery nice supper was served on the verandas, crystal vases of roses decorating the table, and at Its conclusion Messrs. R. Hamilton and A. R. Uralow made speeches appropriate to the occasion, and Mr. Onllctly. when returning (hanka on behalf of MW Gewglass and for himself. said they appreciated very much lhe great kindness shown them by the Hamilton family and treasured very much theirs and the good wishes of their friends.On Tuesday evening the members of St. Paul's Young Women's League entertained MUs Bewglass at another gift, party nt Marly, the residence of Mr.* G. M. Cameron. The lounge anil dining room were decked in autumn tints, marigold and gaillardla predominating. Parlor games, community sinking, and competitions helped everyone u have h happy time. Miss Jessie Mlnchrr contributed a solo, and Mrs. Colin Sutherland and Miss Alison M'Kcnzie won the competitions, their prizes going to the guest of honor. After n dainty supper had been enjoyed, Rev. R Bardon naked Miss Bewglass to accept the fine array of beautiful gifts. He wLshed her on behalf or all present, the best of everything in her married life. Mr. Galletly responded again, thanking thoir friends for their very good wishes lor Miss Bewglua and himself.Miss Bewglass, who has been actively associated with the Girl Guide movement, was the guest of honor at n .social evening held In St. Paul's Sunday school hall last Thursday. The Old Guides Company combined with the 2nd Mackay Company In arranging the function. Miss Eleanor Hope, on behalf of the Old Guides Company. made a presentation to Miss Bewglass of a casserole dish In a silver stand and suitably engraved. Miss Mmnle M’Glnn, on behalf of the 2nd Mackay Company, asked their guest to accept a silver entree dish inset with a Girl Guide badge and a suitable Inscription. Mias Bewglsss returned thanks ancf stated she had always been most happy to have been of any servlet* to the Girl Guide movement and trusted they would continue llieir pood work.
