Local Golfing NotesPaul “Shorty** Lanier, Charles and James Horton, were In Morg-anton recently where they participated in an invitational Medal Tourney, sponsored by the Mimosa Country Club of Morganton. These players represented the Statesville Country Club in the tourney and they gave a good account of themselves, with Lanier and Charles Horton coming away with several of the prizes offered at the meet.The local Country Club expects to enter r e preee n ta/tiyes in the ilorth-doming Charlotte Country Club Tournament, which will be played over the sporty links of the Queen City’s Club, sometime the first of part of next month.H.D.Mr. Jack W/agner, amateur and. Pat Denofrio, local pro, expect •tQ* enter the Ftors^th Country Clubs Pro-Amateur event, which is a forerunner of the annual North Carolina golf tourney, which will be run off -on the links of the Winstopj Salem Club, within the next several weeks.n
