Archie McNeil, 56 years old, veteran railroad man and a resident of Laurel for many years, died at 12:20 o’clock Saturday afternoon at his residence, 710 Eighth avenue, after an illness of two months.Mr. McNeil had been connected with the Gulf, Mobile and Northern railroad for thirty years and at the time of his illness held the position of conductor. He was a faithful member of the Immaculate Conception Church and during his residence in Laurel discharged the duties of citizenship to the fullest extent.Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Jean McNeil; a daughter, Margaret; a son, Archie, Jr.; one sister, Mrs. J. P. Barthwick, Hattiesburg; and one brother, the Rev. P. J. McNeil, Louisville, Ky.Funeral services will be held at the residence at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon, the Rev. Father Thomas Hayes officiating.
