D. P. MITCHELL IS DEAD AT AGE OF 64————— 1Decatur P. Mitchell, G4 years ohl, died at 7: IS this morning; at his home 506 North Main street. Death -was caused by arteris sclerosis and cirrhosis of the liver. Mr. Mitchell had been ill since having an attack of influenza in February.Mr. Mitchell was a well known and well liked citizen of this community, where for many years he was engaged in the grain and feed business, being associated for a long time with the late W. H. Robinson, and later going into business for himself. In recent years he had been working as a carpenter.Surviving are the widow and two eons, Paul Mitchell, who is in the army service and stationed at Ft. Monroe, Va,, and Dow Mitchell, a city mail carrier; and two sisters, Mrs. Melissa Seward of Marion, Ind., and Mrlt;s. Alice Culley of Terre Haute.The son, Paul, arrived here about Van hour before the death of his father, this morning. Mrs. Culley is also here and Mrs. Seward is expected to come for the funeral.The funeral services have not been arranged.CITY SCHOOL CHILDREN DONATE FOR MONUMENTSuperintendent George W. Me Reynolds announced today that $69.50 had been donated by the pupils of the city schools io go to the fund being raised by the school children of theUnited States to build a monument for France, in commemoration of the Battle of the Marne. Vermillion county was asked to contribute $84 and enough money has been raised to cover this quota.Mr. and Mrs. Claude Wolfe have returned home from their wedding trip and will leave Friday for Detroit where they will make their future home.
