Herbert Brooker and family came up in their Studebaker car from Britt, Ia., last Wednesday to visit here and let Mr. Brooks recuperate, as the marble floor on which he has been working in his store has severely injured his feet. Mrs. John Swenson drove over from Bath Sunday and was a guest of her brother Louis Knutson and family in the village. Mrs. Melvin Manseth was up from Albert Lea last week visiting Mrs. D. A. Purdie and her sister, Mrs. Peter Stensrud. Will Sorenson is doing tiling on the Wm. Walker farm in Carlston. Russ Corner has lost about thirty hogs the past month and has only one left. The New York dentists were at the Hotel on April 26 and 27th. Freeborn keeps up with the times as an Equal Suffrage meeting is to be held at the school house Tuesday af ternoon April 27th. Bucknam and the Misses Jennie Purdie and Eunice Bates were in Albert Lea Saturday going down in the former's auto. Mrs. Herman Rafoth was seventy years old last Saturday and her chil dren gave her greetings. Mrs. J. B. Purdie also passed an other mile stone on April 25 and the Birthday club were her guests on Sat urday. Rev. Moore wished all to remember May 9th as the day to observe “Moth er’s Day.”
