D„ April 14.—With tho expiring of the time for filing nominations under the commission form of city government, citizens are now for tho ;3rst time here, giving seriousthought to the problem of selecting their new officers. There are three candidates for mayor, E. T. White, the present incumbent, a republican; W. J. FantJe, of the big firm of Fantle Bros., put forward by the business interests, and C. J. Novotny, a democratic alderman. Tho coxnmitssionersnominated are C, B. Freney, F. S. Vaughan, Sig O. Hanger, J. J, Nlssen, Dr. S. M. Hohf,‘ August Goertz and' Joseph Frick. Of these the first nam- 1 ed are at present aldermen, one a i democrat and one republican. The others are business and professional men. It Is an open field and the wise ones aro at present making no forecasts.
